Latest News

Next target training day is Tuesday 4th June.  We will be closed from 12.00.  If you need to see a Doctor while the surgery is closed you can ring 111 for medical help.

As from 22nd January 2013 the out of hours number (NHS111) is changing.  The new number will be 111.

NHS111 is a new service that has been introduced to make it easier for people to access local NHS healthcare services.  You can call 111 when you need medical help fast but it's not a 999 emergency.  NHS 111 is a fast and easy way to get the right help, whatever the time.

The service is free from both mobiles and landlines and is available 24 hours 365 days a year.  When telephone 111, a call handler will take the call and ask the patient a series of questions about their symptoms.  At the end of the call they will be advised which service would be best placed to help with their concern or advised to self-treat at home if appropriate.

For the third year running we were nominated to receive the "Best GP Practice Award".  We were shortlisted to the final 10 which is a fantastic achievement.  We thank everybody who took the time to write into the Portsmouth News to nominate us.  The winner was Wickham Surgery and we came in as the runner up.
